ANDREW LUM is an award-winning producer, arranger and composer who, over the last 13 years, has worked in London, Vancouver, Taipei, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, and has collaborated with the renowned in the regional and international music industry including producer RYUICHI SAKAMOTO, Erhu virtuoso Kenny Wen, flautist Ellie Lai, 1992 Pagannini-Award-winning violinist Ara Malikian, the LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, the Vancouver Symphony and Pipa artiste Shirley Lu.

As a music arranger, he has worked with top Asian artistes including Zhang Qing Fang, Sky Wu, Tang Na, Na Ying, Kit Chan, Andy Lau, Julia Peng, Yin Zheng Yang, Dick Lee, Li Fei Hui and Sammi Cheng.

In 1995, he arranged an Erhu album for Kenny Wen, which won the BEST INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM in the Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan. In 1996, he produced the soundtrack for the movie "Intimate", which won the BEST SOUNDTRACK in Taiwan, and in 1999, the original score for the Singapore Arts Central TV mini series "AlterAsians", which won the Finalist Award in the prestigious NEW YORK FESTIVALS.

In 1998, he founded Singapore's first Asian fusion record company EXPECT MUSIC. The impressive credentials of Andrew and his recording artistes won the governmentÕs support and the company became the first record label in Singapore to be awarded a S$190,000 grant from the ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD. It is also supported by the TRADE DEVELOPMENT BOARD, PRODUCTIVITY AND STANDARDS BOARD, SINGAPORE TOURISM BOARD and the NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL.

In 2001, Andrew established another record label called NEW ASIA RECORDS.

Besides composing, arranging and producing, Andrew is an accomplished guitarist. He founded the jazz fusion group, Room 430 in the late 80s, which won the Yamaha Band Explosion in 1987 while he took the BEST GUITARIST AWARD in the same competition.

Between 2000 and 2001, Andrew was the music director and guitarist for many international music festivals and performances including the WOMAD 2000 SINGAPORE, VOLVO WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL 2000 in Malaysia, and the SINGAPORE LIVE! with the Singapore Tourism Board in Stockholm, Sweden.

As a record producer, he has also participated and represented Singapore in numerous international music trade events and seminars including MIDEM in Cannes, France, POPKOMM in Cologne, Germany and the ASIA-EUROPE MUSIC SEMINAR in Lyon, France.

Recently, two of the tracks produced by this Singaporean composer were licensed for release in Europe under two different compilations by Milan Music (France) in December 2001 and Free Form Records (Germany) in January 2002.
